Purity Bootcamp
Brothers, in an effort to fortify the holiness in our lives, for the sake of our spiritual health, for the sake of our families, for the sake of our local church, and for Jesus Christ and his glory we are introducing the Purity Bootcamp.
Beginning Tuesday, January 9th, we will meet for 8 weeks every Tuesday (6:30-8:30pm) for a time in the Word, prayer, accountability, and encouragement in order to wage war against pornography and lust.
Every man at MHC is invited provided that you can agree to the following commitment:
The men of MHC solemnly and joyfully enter into this commitment with one another to kill sexual sin in our lives through participation in the Purity Bootcamp. We believe that the righteousness of Christ alone is the basis of our salvation. However, we also believe that Jesus not only secured our pardon on the cross, but the power to break the bondage of sin.
1. We commit to pursuing personal holiness through the biblically prescribed means of grace of going to church, abiding in the Word, and persisting in prayer.
2. We commit to developing a God honoring view of women as fellow image bearers and sisters in Christ.
3. We commit to not viewing pornographic material.
4. We commit to cultivating habits of sexual purity by using any available tools at our disposal.
5. We commit to regularly attend the meetings of the bootcamp and make all possible effort to do so.
6. We commit (if medically allowable) to fast at least one meal before our Tuesday meetings.
7. We commit to actively participate in group discussions and home assignments.
We commit to the preceding for God’s glory and trusting in his grace.
